Last updated: March 2025

1. Definitions

  • "Company" means Pulse Electrical London, an NICEIC-approved electrical contractor based at 45 Marlborough Rd, London E4 9AJ.
  • "Customer" means any individual or business engaging the Company's services.
  • "Work" means any electrical installation, inspection, testing, maintenance or advisory service provided by the Company.

2. Acceptance

By requesting a quotation, booking a job, or instructing work to proceed, the Customer confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. These terms shall govern all agreements between the Company and the Customer.

3. Quotations & Estimates

  • All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
  • Quotations are based on information provided by the Customer at the time of enquiry. Any changes to the scope of work may result in a revised quotation.
  • Where additional work is identified on-site that was not included in the original quotation, the Company will notify the Customer and obtain approval before proceeding.

4. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion of work unless a prior written credit agreement has been arranged.
  • For larger projects, stage payments or a deposit may be required — this will be stated in the quotation.
  • Accepted payment methods include bank transfer, cash, and card.
  • Invoices unpaid after 30 days may incur a late payment charge of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

5. Workmanship Guarantee

All electrical work carried out by the Company is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of completion, covering defects in materials or workmanship. This guarantee does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, or third-party interference
  • Existing or pre-existing faults not directly related to the work carried out
  • Consumable components (e.g. light bulbs, fuses)

6. Regulatory Compliance

All work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations). Where required under Part P of the Building Regulations (England), notifiable work will be registered with the relevant Local Building Control authority via our NICEIC scheme membership. The Customer will receive an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) or Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (MEIWC) upon completion.

7. Access & Customer Responsibilities

  • The Customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the property at the agreed time.
  • The Customer is responsible for clearing the work area where required (e.g. removing furniture, clearing lofts, providing a clear route to the consumer unit).
  • If access cannot be gained at the agreed time and no prior cancellation notice was given, a call-out or abortive visit fee may apply.

8. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
  • Emergency callout bookings cancelled after despatch may be charged for time and travel already incurred.
  • The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. vehicle breakdown, adverse weather). Alternative dates will be offered promptly.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Company's total liability to the Customer for any claim arising from the provision of services shall not exceed the total value of the contract price. The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss (including loss of profits or business interruption) unless this arises from our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the Company's liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Insurance

Pulse Electrical London carries £2,000,000 Public Liability Insurance. Details available upon request. All engineers are directly employed or sub-contracted by the Company and are NICEIC assessed.
